Summary:

  • The Project Manager role will provide an opportunity lead and manage complex geotechnical and heavy civil construction projects.
  • Under the direction of management/ownership, this role will manage from inception to completion the life cycle of single or multiple projects. Key responsibilities to include the following scope of work: engineering design coordination, preliminary design, cost estimates, proposal preparation, contract negotiations, cost analysis, project management and any sub-contractor coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Engineering design coordination, preliminary design, cost estimates proposal preparation, contract negotiations, cost analysis, project management and any sub-contractor coordination
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and managing projects
  • Serve as organization spokesperson for local region
  • Must possess strong communication skills
  • Lead local business development activities and coordinate with management team
  • Must have ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Attract, develop and retain key talent, set expectations and manage performance.( local installation crews)
  • Ensure consistency and excellence on project execution and achieve optimal financial performance
  • Coordination of project priorities, staffing schedules, and staff assignments for local office

Experience:

  • 5+ years in the construction project management/ business development field.

Physical Requirements:

  • The individual must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, life vest, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done
  • Sitting for long periods of time, sometimes up to 4-6 hours
  • Exposure to computer screens and cellular telephone screens
  • Walking, stepping, climbing or otherwise moving from one location to another on the job site
  • Visually seeing equipment operations well (either naturally or with corrective lenses)
  • Standing, stooping kneeling, squatting, climbing or sitting for long periods of time
  • Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work
  • Lifting 25 lb. objects occasionally
  • Carrying 25 lb. objects occasionally
  • Adapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure to sometimes adverse weather conditions
  • Remaining calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident
  • Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments and holidays as required

Skills & Abilities: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented atmosphere
  • Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word/Excel
  • Proficient with AutoCAD or similar design software
  • Ability to travel extensively and for extended periods of time
  • Sound technical knowledge
  • Commercial instincts
  • Highly motivated, self-starter

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree from four year accredited college or university with a concentration in Civil Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study
  • Candidates with 5 + years of progressive project management experience will be considered in lieu of education

Licenses or Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

Travel:

  • Travel is required on an is needed basis
